Preparation method
Step One
Boil and potatoes and the turnips separately until soft.
Let them dry in a colander or sieve.

Step Two
Mash the potatoes and turnips together, along with the butter, until evenly mixed.

Step Three
Add the chopped chives and season to taste.

Serving Steps

Step One
Serve very hot. Traditionally served with haggis but good with any meat dish or as part of a vegetarian meal.
